Did you know...

The Olympic Torch will be passing through Munich on its way to Athens on June 29. The torch will be carried along a 48-km route beginning at the Olympic Stadium. 125 torch-bearers will carry the famous flame for 400 meters through the city with two stops—once at Nymphenburg Palace and once at the Chinese Tower—for a short cultural program and end at the Marienplatz. For information on the route and times check the MUNICH FOUND Website in the days leading up to the event.

Organizers of the EuroGames, taking place from July 29 to August 1, are still looking for volunteers to help with the games and to put up athletes for the duration of events—helpers have free access to the EuroGames. If you are interested in helping, go to and click on “Registration.”

Munich’s Streetlife-Festival on June 12 and 13 will provide adults and children with two days of fun, music and food. On both days (and again on September 4 and 5) the Ludwig and Leopoldstrasse will be closed to traffic, and Munich residents, young and old, are invited to draw, act, play, sing or just chill out at the many booths set up on the street.
