Fake Flake

If you’re itching to hit the slopes as soon as possible this winter season, but the scenic Alps just seem too far away to bother with the traffic, then the Olympic Park may be an excellent alternative. Through the end of January 2004 Coubertinplatz near the Olympic Lake will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a 40-m wide, 70-m long manmade ski slope for your skiing and snowboarding pleasure. A ski lift has been installed, skis, snowboards and snowblades are available to rent and, owing to the latest technology, the snow stays fresh in temperatures of up to 15ºC. Ski and snowboarding courses are available, as well as a Kinderclub for the children. Open daily until 10 pm. For more information call (089) 306 70 or visit www.olympiapark-muenchen.de.
