Christopher Street Day

“It’s our world too. We will not retreat,” is the motto at this year’s Christopher Street Day celebrations. From July 12 to 14, gays, lesbians and their friends will be able to party, march or chat at any one of 12 events. The action starts with a “Kultur Biergarten” on Friday, when guests dine on a number of delectable dishes, while enjoying an exciting stage show. On Saturday, revelers can take their hangovers to Marienplatz and, after what are sure to be some rousing words from local politician Claudia Roth, fall into line behind Munich’s mayor, Christian Ude, when he leads the parade at 1 pm. If you’re not flagging by Sunday night, you can bop till you drop at the Wirtshaus zum Isartal. For those of you who have never been before, you’ll love the carnival atmosphere!
