Jam and Bread

Benefit hip hop event

Today’s youth is often criticized for being both politically and socially unaware. This generalization will be proven wrong on March 31 at the Muffathalle by the Ostasinn (“Easter Spirit”) Jam — a benefit event featuring young German hip hop, ragga musicians and graffiti artists. All performers have volunteered to donate their fees to the project Fountains for Ghana. The third-world aid organization Plan International launched this project in order to provide clean drinking water for Ghana, where 30 percent of the population is stricken with disease owing to polluted water. The Ostasinn Jam kicks off at 16:00 with a live graffiti show and continues with a variety of performance highlights until early morning. Following the jam, all graffiti artworks will be auctioned at www.ostasinn.de. The proceeds will be added to the artists’ donated fees. Organizers see the event as a way of celebrating life and as a symbol of solidarity and tolerance.
