Christopher Street Day

Drag queens, high-heel shoe races, techno parties, choirs, women’s nights, tram rides and a plentitude of merriment — these are but a few of the highlights of Munich’s annual celebration of gay pride, Christopher Street Day. From July 13 to 16, the Isar city will be abuzz with gays, lesbians and “straights” from all over Europe, here to display solidarity via a long list of entertaining events. Once again, Munich Mayor Christian Ude will preside over the festivities, offering his words of support before the parade starts at 13:00 on July 15 at Odeonsplatz. A rundown on the day’s activities is available at www.csd-munich.de or in the city’s gay and lesbian magazine Our Munich. <<<
