New Museum of Public Transportation

Trains, planes and automobiles are longstanding favorites with kids, so for a foolproof museum visit head to Munich’s latest addition. The recently opened 5,000-square meter MVG (Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft) Museum at Ständlerstr. 20 provides a detailed overview of the 130-year history of public transportation in Munich. Twenty trams, buses and trains are housed alongside exhibits in a former streetcar depot and workshop. Entry is € 2.50 for adults, € 2 for children and € 5 for families. The museum is open just one weekend a month, from 11 am to 5 pm; November 10 and 11, and December 1 and 2 are the next planned dates. www.mvg-mobil.de/mvg-museum.htm <<<
