Tollwood 07

The annual Tollwood Summer Festival aims simply “to offer as much free culture to as many people as possible.” That translates to an international mix of performers, organic food stands, craft demonstrations, kids’ activities, and fantastic shopping, which will take over Olympic Park South from June 14 to July 8. The festival is already sensationally popular, but can expect even more visitors this year with the launch of “Theater for All.” For the first time, many theater productions will be staged for free. Concerts by such international acts as ZZ Top and Joan Baez will still require tickets, but viewing the shows in such a small venue more than justifies the moderate prices. Pick up the 66-page program at ticket kiosks in the city, or visit www.tollwood.de for a complete schedule of performances and offerings. Tollwood will be open Monday through Friday, 2 pm to 1 am, and weekends from 11 am to 1 am. The Market is only open until 11:30 pm each night.
