MAPC Address Book Secrets

Members of the Munich-American Peace Committee compiled this list of favorite local spots.

EineWeltHaus: This all-purpose venue offers space for many different group activities, including our peace group’s monthly meeting. Palestinians, Peruvians, Turks, Greeks, Irish, and members of other international societies have meetings and musical evenings there. There are sometimes combined parties, and a summer festival every year. Frequent lectures and seminars with well-known German and international speakers on politics, economics, war and peace round out the program, available online at www.einewelthaus.de. The low-cost restaurant and beer garden are great for a snack before or after your event. Schwanthalerstr. 80, Tel. 856 37 50.

Hechtsprung: Continue your day at the pool with a dish from the deep at this good fish restaurant with reasonable prices. It is located at the Dantebad (a year-round, open-air swimming pool). Homerstr. 3, Tel. 15 70 49 30 .

Mosaik: The atmosphere at this Syrian restaurant is pleasant, not too kitschy. You’ll find tasty stuffed pastries and other mezze on the traditional menu. Frankfurter Ring 38.

Zum Flaucher: Among Munich’s many beer gardens, this is our favorite. Located at the Flaucher, it’s open summer and winter, whenever weather allows. Isarauen 8, Tel. 723 26 77.
